About The Cane Corso.

Appearance & Disposition : The Cane Corso is a peerless protector, a Large, Intelligent, Powerful, Loyal and Confident Breed. The Corso goes back to ancient Roman times, where the name roughly translates from the Latin as 'bodyguard dog. They are large powerful dogs often bred to hunt Bears, Wild Bore and Bulls.  The Cane Corso will appear to be an elite and intimidating breed standing nearly 28" tall with a large head, alert expression, and muscular body with a stiff coat. Their appearance is their first line of defense against intruders, much like a professional body guard. Corsi are intelligent, loyal, willing and eager to please, versatile, and extremely loyal to their humans. Over all the Cane Corso represents the best combination of companion and guard dog there is.

Training: As with any other large guardian breed, responsible breeding and early socialization with people and other dogs is vital. Puppies should receive training early in life to establish proper socialization and obedience skills.  Obedience training will keep them from becoming the boss in the household. Cane Corsos are intelligent and eager to please, so they are generally easy to train. Despite their appearance, Cane Corsos are all heart, and respond to love and rewards far better than to harsh corrections or training methods.
